Abbey mortgages 'suit FTBs'

The premier homebuyer solution is being added to Abbey's permanent range and is a product which covers legal and valuation fees for customers.
The Abbey mortgages are available in a number of formats, ranging from a two-year fixed-rate mortgage with no fee at 7.14 per cent to a five-year fixed package at 6.44 per cent.
Abbey believes that in a rising interest rate environment the package is competitive, while customers can also choose whether they want to pay a booking fee or not.
Nici Audhlam-Gardiner, head of mortgages at Abbey, said: "With no valuation fee and no legal fees, along with competitive rates, these products offer exceptional value as a solution for movers who find they are shelling out left, right and centre on expenses relating to their move."
The group also announced new rates on a number of its fixed-rate packages, which have risen by a quarter point in line with the base rate.
