Direct Line packages 'lauded'

Insurer Direct Line has been lauded for the competitiveness of its packages in a new report by Deloitte.

The group's quarterly insurance market report shows that Direct Line provided one of the three most competitive quotes on 257 occasions out of 1,000 risks reviewed.

Direct Line also offers a number of other features in its insurance packages which make it stand out from the crowd.

It is claimed that the group is the only insurer to offer a no-claims discount to named drivers, second car discounts and an uninsured driver promise to its policyholders.

Direct Line is also offering a zero per cent interest for customers wishing to pay by monthly instalments.

Paul Baxter, head of car insurance at Direct Line, said: "This report shows that Direct Line continues to offer our customers some of the most competitive premiums on the market, but it is about more than just price – we offer our customers innovative and appealing product features and excellent service."
