Tesco car checker facility launched

Tesco Personal Finance is launching a new service for customers looking to buy a used car online with the new car checker facility.

Costing a generous £19.99, the car checker will allow prospective buyers to see if a car has outstanding finance on it and whether it is an insurance write-off.

The Tesco car checker will also be able to ascertain if a car has been stolen and whether it has been clocked.

Tesco clubcard customers and motorists who have taken up a Tesco insurance package will also be eligible for a 20 per cent discount.

Allan Burns, head of insurance at Tesco Personal Finance, said: "We would encourage motorists to shop around for their car checks in the same way they would for their vehicle as there are considerable savings to be made."

He added: "We are entering the market to offer our customers a quick and simple comprehensive service that gives them peace of mind at a great price."
