Co-operative supports green housing project

Housing developer Living Space 21 has designed new-build studio apartments that come with eco-friendly features such as sustainable timber frames.
With the Co-operative Bank claiming that 92 per cent of first-time buyers struggle to afford to get on the property ladder, prices from £59,950 excluding land will also be welcome news.
Commenting on the project, the bank's head of campaign delivery Paul Hemingway said: "We are providing a modern housing option, which is not only affordable to all, but also causes minimal impact to the surrounding environment."
As well as sponsoring this environmentally-conscious initiative, the Co-operative Bank also provides green features, such as donations to Climate Care, with its mortgage offerings.
Last week, the National Home Improvement Council called on homeowners to work to reduce domestic carbon emissions.
