Festivals this month include the Leeds and Reading festivals, Creamfields and the Edinburgh festival, giving people the chance to relax for a weekend and see some famous names.
However, with 11 million British adults having fallen to a robbery in a public place, it is vital to keep belongings secure, the insurer said.
"We don't want to put people off attending these events, just advise them to be vigilant, and remember that there are a few simple measures that can go a long way towards making sure they don't fall prey to thieves or lose any items of value," said Paul Birkhead, senior manager of pricing and underwriting for Halifax Home Insurance.
Last month, the provider claimed that the number of home insurance claims increase by 23 per cent during the summer months.
Halifax Home Insurance offers optional personal belongings cover up to a maximum of £1,500 per item.
