Co-operative Bank 25-year fixed-rate mortgage launched

Features include a fixed-rate of 5.99 per cent, an application fee of £499 and a maximum loan-to-value ratio of 95 per cent.
Among the other advantages of the loan are free standard legal and valuation fees for remortgages, full portability for movers and the removal of early repayment charges after ten years.
Additionally, the standard Co-operative green benefits such as donations to Climate Care apply.
"This new mortgage offers customers an extremely competitive rate, along with the peace of mind that the rate will remain fixed at this level, whilst offering all the flexibility of a portable product enabling customers to move home and take their mortgage with them," said John Barker, head of mortgages at Co-operative Financial Services.
Earlier this month, the bank launched a new tracker mortgage that follows the Bank of England's base rate minus 0.61 per cent for two years and has a £999 application fee.
