Legal & General 'become good Samaritans'

The Samaritans are to provide training and direction for Legal & General staff who have to deal with potentially awkward calls from clients making a claim.

Legal & General hope that by being trained by the Samaritans, their staff will be better equipped to handle such calls with both compassion and competence.

The senior operations manager for claims and underwriting at Legal & General, Stuart Johnson, said that many of the clients the company's staff deals with are going through a "tough time".

He said: "Our staff need training to know how to deal with people in this situation in a way that allows us to offer a friendly and professional service.

"These customers have enough to cope with already and they just want us to deal with the claim in a timely and efficient manner."

Meanwhile, Legal & General recently performed research that found that a large kitchen is the most important factor for househunters.
