People who sign up online by November 27th can take advantage of an offer to receive 12 months' worth of home insurance cover for the price of nine, as well as a further discount of ten per cent.
The offer comes as research from the insurance provider reveals that damage caused by children and pets during the half-term holidays could affect as many as 900,000 Britons.
Steve Johnson, head of Sainsbury's Home Insurance, commented: "A week of having your children at home can be a challenge in terms of keeping them amused and entertained.
"If the weather is poor and they have to spend more time indoors, the chances of your home being damaged in some way by them or their friends increases."
Sainsbury's is one of four per cent of providers which cover damage caused by pets.
