The survey found that the average kid's bedroom is now busting at the seams with some £1,720 worth of goodies in it, up seven per on last year's figure.
And with nine out of ten parents intending to splash out as much as £500 per child on presents this Christmas, Lloyds TSB Insurance is urging parents to check that their home contents insurance policies provide an adequate level of cover.
"Parents should take time to calculate how much the contents in every room is worth and make sure their policy covers the total value," advised managing director Phil Loney.
He added that consumers should also ensure their insurance provider is one of the many that offers an automatic seasonal boost in protection over the Christmas period.
Recent research by Abbey highlighted another insurance concern for Brits - noting that they stash an incredible £946 million worth of presents in other people's homes in the run-up to Christmas.
