Abbey bank account music download offer

Abbey has enhanced its young person's current accounts by increasing the amount of interest they earn and unveiling a special music download perk.

Any under-18s who open a youth current account with the bank from December 17th will now receive double the amount of music they pay for when downloading works by selected EMI artists.

Upon purchase of any one album, teenagers with Abbey accounts will be given the option of downloading another digital-quality album for absolutely free.

And with the rate of interest on such accounts rising to six per cent for balances of up to £500, Abbey head Steve Shore says the there is no better product on the market.

"It has a high rate of interest with a realistic qualifying criteria and a great incentive," Mr Shore said. "We know teenagers love to spend their money on music and the offer with EMI means that we can help them get more tunes with their cash."

Abbey presently offers two current accounts for under-18s - one for 11 to 15-year-olds and a more enhanced product for 16 to 18-year olds.
