Massive damage can be caused by Wii

Major damage can be caused to television sets if people over-exert themselves when playing a Nintendo Wii, Halifax Home Insurance has stated.

Of those polled by the organisation, one-in-five claimed that they wish to purchase the product at Christmas, while one-in-ten are planning to get a fresh TV set.

Halifax Home Insurance senior claims manager Martyn Foulds urged homeowners to have the correct provisions in place should accidents occur.

"With some plasma screen TVs retailing at over £2,000, householders would be well advised to make sure they are properly covered and tell their insurer if they have a television of high value," he commented.

He added that people often let go of the handset that comes with the computer, letting it smash into the television screen.

Recently, the company also suggested that adults will splash out £11.92 billion on gifts this Christmas. On average, they will spend £400 each just on presents.ADNFCR-323-ID-18386158-ADNFCR
