Bradford & Bingley savings product launched

A new Bradford & Bingley savings product has come on the market today (December 12th), the bank has announced.

The new What If? Saver Special Edition instant-access savings account offers an initial enhanced variable rate of 6.25 per cent per annum gross or 5.75 per cent AER.

This rate includes a one per cent per annum gross bonus that applies to all balances for the first 180 days, after which it will revert to 5.25 per cent per annum gross.

A minimum deposit of £2,000 and a maximum contribution of £2 million is required to open the account.

Up to four free withdrawals worth £250 apiece can be made from the Bradford & Bingley savings account each calendar year without penalty fees.

Paul Whitlock, head of savings at Bradford & Bingley, commented: "The What If? Saver Special Edition account is ideal for customers who are looking to earn an attractive rate on their money whilst retaining the flexibility offered by instant access."

Bradford & Bingley recently launched fixed-rate bonds with a rate of 6.8 per cent per annum gross.
