Prudential gives health advice

Incentives to help insurance customers get healthy have been introduced by Prudential.

With focus on exercise, losing weight and stopping smoking, PruHelth has teamed up with organisations that can help.

In conjunction with Cannons, LA Fitness and Virgin Active gyms, it is offering discounted membership[s to policyholders who attend sessions regularly.

Prudential's customers can also get Vitality points via eBay to reduce health insurance premiums by purchasing eligible fitness equipment from the site.

Smokers can enrol on a stopping smoking programme from Alan Carr for a reduced rate of £49 (full cost £220, including a £100 reimbursement of the admin fee).

Policyholders can also get other discounts and perks, details of which are available from the company.

PruHealth's Chief Executive Officer, Shaun Matisonn, said: "Our philosophy is to reward our members for staying healthy - that extra financial incentive to get fit can give members the added boost they need."

Recent figures from Bupa UK Healthcare revealed that health workers are among employees with the highest absence rates.
