Alliance & Leicester current account 'for over-50 fitness'

A new Alliance & Leicester current account offers financial fitness for people over 50, the bank claims.

The Premier 50 current account offers benefits - such as access to outpatient specialist consultations, limited outpatient diagnostic testing and a helpline - for customers up to the age of 79.

Some of the other benefits of the Alliance & Leicester current account include a credit interest rate of seven per cent AER on balances up to £2,500 until January 31st, 2009 and the ability to link to a PlusSaver account.

Emma Walkley, senior current account manager for Alliance & Leicester's Premier 50 current account, explained that maintaining health can sometimes come "at a hefty price" for older people.

"Recognising this problem, our bespoke current account aimed at the over 50s offers real benefits, giving our customers peace of mind that some of their more essential health needs will be taken care of," she remarked.

Alliance & Leicester also has a Premier Direct Current Account offering 6.5 per cent AER.
