Bradford & Bingley bonds launched for new year savers

Bradford & Bingley has announced the introduction of new Bradford & Bingley bonds, a limited edition range with upper limits of £2 million.

According to the building society, the Bradford & Bingley bonds are perfect for people looking to acquire a savings habit in 2008.

"Many people resolve to save more in the new year and these market-leading bonds offer them a great way of doing so," said Paul Whitlock, head of savings at Bradford & Bingley.

A six-month fixed-rate bond at 6.5 per cent AER that matures on July 18th 2008, as well as a one-year fixed-rate bond at 6.5 per cent AER that matures on January 21st 2009, are both available in the range.

Each of the Bradford & Bingley bonds, which also include a two-year fixed-rate bond at six per cent AER and that matures on 20 January 2010, has a minimum deposit requirement of £1,000.

In October, Bradford & Bingley launched a range of eBonds, allowing customers to manage their bonds online as well as in-branch.
