Halifax credit card 'best deal on high street'

A new Halifax credit card deal offers the best deal on the high street, the bank has announced.

The Halifax credit card offers zero per cent for 13 months on balance transfers and zero per cent for six months on purchases.

It also provides a typical APR of 15.9 per cent and no annual fee. The Halifax credit card is covered against fraud relating to purchases made online.

Ken Stannard, head of Halifax Card Services, said that Halifax is "once again" providing the top deal on the hide street.

"For many, new year is a time to organise their finances and by consolidating more expensive debt, such as store cards on to a new Halifax Plus Credit Card, the average credit cardholder could save well in excess of £100," he added.

According to Apacs, the UK's payments association, the average outstanding balance for each UK credit card holder is £1,859.
