Halifax Home Insurance: More flooding is imminent

David Rochester, head of underwriting at Halifax Home Insurance, has warned people that Association of British Insurers figures reveal a three-fold increase in the homes that could face flooding.
Some steps which could be taken by those who are seeking to protect themselves from flooding include placing sandbags outside doors and moving furniture upstairs.
"Those who are already flooded can also take measures to ensure their property is returned to its normal state with as little disruption as possible," he added.
A 24-hour home emergency helpline is operated by Halifax Home Insurance, in which trained professionals give advice on various crisis situations such as flooding.
Earlier this month, Halifax Home Insurance also gave advice to homeowners in Scotland who were facing heavy storms.
