LV= pet insurance launched

Monthly prices for the LV= pet insurance start at £5 for felines and £7 for dogs - and animals are eligible from eight weeks of age.
One type of product, known as Essential Pet Insurance, is aimed at those who are looking for a basic policy and provides cover for up to 12 months from when the condition starts.
Meanwhile, Premier Pet Insurance provides £5,000 per problem, with no time limit on claims.
Andrew Beard, head of business development at LV=, said that pet insurance "has never been more important".
"When developing these products we really wanted to provide pet owners with value for money cover that offer peace of mind with no hidden clauses or nasty surprises," he added.
Previously, Defaqto recommended that pet owners do not consider buying an animal unless they are prepared to purchase insurance as well.
