NatWest: Ex-pats should do financial research

People wanting to move overseas from the UK ought to do a good amount of research in terms of the financial side of the switch beforehand, according to NatWest International Personal Banking.

These individuals ought to check that they can afford to live in a particular place, head of the organisation Dave Isley noted, something that could be a benefit over the long-term.

"I would suggest that you do a lot of research in terms of cost … you should be well researched to know that you're going to a place you can afford to live in, not just for a couple of years," he commented.

He added that the situation required the same level of thought as a number of other things in life, to find out the positive and negative aspects.

And he said research the company has carried out in conjunction with the Centre for Future Studies has shown the number of British people abroad is set to rise between now and 2050 to 3.3 million.

In the same study, 87 per cent of those polled claimed that there life in another has been better than they thought it would be.
