Customers who switch to one of Alliance & Leicester's premier current accounts can receive a discount of ten per cent on a linked Premier Isa (individual savings account) Issue 2.

The new Premier Isa Issue 2 offers an interest rate of ten per cent gross per annum and requires a minimum investment of £1, with a maximum of £3,000 for the current tax year.

Money can be withdrawn online and via telephone banking using the linked Premier current account and interest is paid on a yearly basis on January 1st.

"Alliance & Leicester's Premier current accounts are recognised as being amongst the best on the market and this new Isa offer makes it even more attractive to switch," commented Ewan Edwards, head of savings and investments at Alliance & Leicester.

He added that the promotion offering a ten per cent discount on Isas for customers with these accounts is meant to promote these benefits.

Last week, Alliance & Leicester announced that it was reviewing its savings rates, with changes that would go into effect on March 3rd.
