Sainsbury's Insurance announces new customer discount

Sainsbury's has announced that it is offering new insurance customers a discount, provided they purchase both buildings and contents cover together.

Those purchasing buildings and contents insurance between March 25th and May 26th will receive 12 months insurance for the price of nine and can save a further 10 per cent if they buy online.

They will also get a maximum no-claims discount of up to 30 per cent as standard and cover for accidental damage.

Neil Lard, Sainsbury's home insurance manager, advised consumers to compare policies not only on price but also on the level of cover they provide.

He said: "Quality cover such as unlimited buildings insurance doesn't have to be expensive and although premiums have been rising, by shopping around and taking advantage of discounts such as ours, there are significant savings to be made."

Yesterday the insurers noted that with incidents of bad weather seemingly becoming more frequent, it is essential that households have adequate home cover.
