Zurich launches Guaranteed Account

Zurich has announced the launch of its Guaranteed Account 18, which offers 100 per cent of any growth in the FTSE index over five and a half years.

The offer is open until June 12th 2008 and for customers who send in their application by May 12th, 0.33 per cent is payable.

In addition, other key features of the account include 100 per cent capital guaranteed and minimum and maximum investments of £2,500 and £250,000.

Clients can also make use of an early maturity feature, in which they will receive 30 per cent gross interest and the closure of the account if the index has grown by 30 per cent or more on the fifth anniversary.

Paul Wright, Zurich's investment management director, said he believed the popularity of the guaranteed products is "due to the fact that these products are simply structured and offer capital security, as well as stock market linked returns".

The company launched its previous Guaranteed Account on January 29th 2008.
