Saga savings product launched

Saga Personal Finance has launched a new savings product - a one-year fixed-rate bond, with a rate of 67.1 per cent gross AER.

It claims that the rate offered makes it one of the top UK-based bonds on the best buy charts.

The product is aimed at investors who do not need constant access to their money during the term of the investment, but would like the choice of having their interest paid annually or monthly.

Saga notes that many of its customers like to receive a regular income from their savings, so the latter option is often popular.

The bond is a limited offer and will be closed once it is fully subscribed, so the company advises that customers apply quickly to avoid disappointment.

In other news, Saga Pet Insurance recently released research which showed that pet owners in the south-east can expect to pay the highest vet bills of anywhere in the UK.
