Alliance & Leicester business deposit accounts introduced

Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank has launched a new range of deposit accounts for businesses.

The Base Rate Beater is an instant access deposit account which tracks the Bank of England's base rate plus 0.3 per cent on balances between £500,000 and £5 million, with the part of the balance below £500,000 receiving base rate plus 0.5 per cent.

The Business Instant Savings account has no minimum opening balance and pays up to 5.05 per cent gross on balances up to £2 million, with ten free electronic withdrawals allowed each month.

Its rate is linked to the Bank's base rate and varies depending on the amount deposited.

The Fixed Term Treasury account is linked to the money markets and offers customers a fixed rate of interest, based on how many months the funds will be in the account.

Steve Jennings, director of business banking at Alliance & Leicester, said: "We are seeing significant growth in the volume and value of deposits made by businesses and this new suite of products is designed to meet the needs of a range of organisations with varying amounts of surplus funds."

Earlier today the bank announced that it is reintroducing its Premier Regular Savings account.
