Saga Motor Insurance finds blues fans are the most reckless

Saga Motor Insurance has found that drivers who listen to blues music in their car are the most likely to be caught speeding, with 49 per cent of them having committed a speeding offence.

Motorists who favour country, reggae and hip hop came in second, third and fourth respectively. Pop and rock music fans were found to be surprisingly sensible drivers, committing less speeding offences than easy listening aficionados.

The insurer discovered that country music devotees were the most likely to have a minor accident, followed by classical and easy listening fans.

Meanwhile, Saga's research also revealed that Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell is the nation's favourite song to take to the road to, closely followed by Bohemian Rhapsody and Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild.

Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga, said: "Whatever type of music people are tuned into behind the wheel, being careful about staying within the law is of the utmost importance."

In related news, Saga Insurance recently assured its customers that it is not intending to introduce any exclusions on baggage claims for passengers travelling from Heathrow's new Terminal 5.
