Bradford & Bingley fixed-rate bonds to be launched

A range of six limited edition fixed-rate bonds are set to be introduced by Bradford & Bingley, the lender has announced.

All of the bonds offer a rate of seven per cent gross/AER per annum and require a minimum deposit of £1,000.

Branch, telephone and online customers can choose from a one, two or three-year bond, as well as a one, two or three-year eBond.

"A rate this great won't be available for long so savers should take advantage of these limited edition products while they can," commented Paul Whitlock, head of savings at Bradford & Bingley.

He added that all of the bonds offer "the same fantastic rate" to savers.

The maximum amount of money that can be held in each bond is £2,000,000 and withdrawals are not allowed until the bond matures.

In March, Bradford & Bingley launched an individual savings account that had a 6.25 per cent interest rate.
