Tesco home insurance schemes to be launched

Three new home insurance products will be launched by Tesco on June 22.

Value, Standard and Finest will offer customers a range of options depending on their needs and budgets.

Costing on average 30 per cent less than Standard, Value will cover essential elements, excluding extras some customers may not wish to cover.

Standard, a new version of existing Tesco insurance, includes no compulsory excess and over £10,000 of additional cover at no further cost.

Finest includes unlimited buildings cover, contents away from home doubled to £10,000 and additional benefits such as ID fraud detection and assistance.

New customers taking Finest can also get up to £60 off shopping or fuel at Tesco.

Jim Bruce, head of Tesco Home Insurance, said the range offered "even greater choice, clarity and value".

A recent home insurance offer from Halifax rewards customers with £50 when they switch to it and £50 every year they renew it.
