The Home Insurance Plus policy covers home buildings and contents, possessions such as sports equipment and handbags, credit cards, travel insurance, emergency and legal protection and ID fraud assistance.
Direct Line says this will eliminate the possibility of paying for "overlapping cover" or confusion over which policy is needed to make a claim.
Andrew Lowe, head of home insurance at Direct Line, said having one policy "makes the process simpler, easier and quicker".
Recent research by Tesco found that fitting security measures such as burglar or car alarms does not always bring down the cost of an insurance premium.
The average saving on home insurance was found to be £5 and £1.70 on car insurance.
Paul Baxter, director of commercial and partnerships at Tescocompare.com, said that alarms may deter burglars and noted that some insurers may insist on a car alarm to insure an expensive car.
He advised comparing quotes on a comparison website to get the best deal.
