Halifax launches credit card bonus

An exclusive credit card bonus has been launched by Halifax.

Available to new and existing customers, the product offers an extra month of zero per cent on balance transfers and purchases on the All-in-One credit card.

This means the interest free period on the card has been extended from ten to 11 months.

The bonus is available until 21st September for customers who deposit £1,000 or more into their account each month.

The card carries a typical rate of 15.9 per cent APR and does not charge a fee.

Ken Stannard, head of Halifax card services, said it could save customers hundreds of pounds in interest.

Meanwhile, banks and building societies are slashing interest rates on instant access savings accounts even as they try to persuade savers to place more money in accounts, according to MoneyExpert.

The financial comparison website found that that the average interest rate on such accounts has fallen from 3.76 per cent in January to 3.3 per cent now.
