Confused.com adds 1st Quote to home insurance panel

Price comparison website Confused.com has added 1st Quote to its home insurance panel.

It follows other providers such as Churchill, Tesco and Privilege as new additions to the website's remit.

Peter Ablett, commercial director at Confused.com, said the site was "delighted" with the new link-up.

He added that there are "several more deals in the pipeline".

Launched in 2002, Confused.com claims to generate over one million quotes a month.

It covers insurance for home, travel, pets and breakdown services.

Consumer magazine Which? recently said that price comparison websites were leaving people "confused" as the cheapest quote varied from site to site.

It researched deals found by Gocompare.com, Confused.com and Moneysupermarket.com, finding that different questions were asked on each one.

The sites responded that the price comparison industry is complex and fast-changing and that customers need the right insurance policy, not just the cheapest.

Which? was also criticised for using out-of-date material.
