New Abbey bonds launched

New fixed-rate Abbey bonds for the over-50s and children have been launched.

The Fixed Rate Bond range offers various rates for annual and monthly returns.

It is available for one, two or three-year terms.

The Children's Saving Bond is available for savers under the age of 18 and offers a guaranteed fixed-rate for four years.

For the 50+ Bond, there is a fixed term of three years with guaranteed interest rates.

Customers can take out the bonds by phone or within an Abbey branch.

They can be obtained, subject to availability, until September 30th.

Baronworth Investment Services (BIS) has also launched a new bond, which it says offers "superb rates".

The guaranteed growth bond range is for people making investments of £100,000 or more, with rates going up to 7.16 per cent.

Guaranteed Income and Growth Bond Surveys are available free of charge from BIS, with customers able to telephone, fax or write to receive one.

BIS monitors income and growth bond rates throughout the day.
