New Barclaycard credit cards launched

A total of four new Barclaycard credit cards have been created to handle a transfer of 1.7 million customers.

The customers were acquired by Barclaycard after its purchase of Discover Financial Services.

The new customers will all receive a new Barclaycard over the next few weeks to replace their existing ones.

Among the new Barclaycard credit cards is the Barclaycard Goldfish, which will continue to use the original fish image.

There will also be an enhanced rewards benefits for holders of the card.

Amer Sajed, managing director of UK cards at Barclaycard, said the Discover card portfolio includes "one of the best known reward schemes in the UK".

Last week, Barclaycard launched two new introductory offers for its Barclaycard OnePulse card.

Both deals involved a zero per cent balance transfer for 14 months, while cashback on Transport for London and other spending was also an option.

According to Barclaycard, one of the offers gave the lowest balance transfer fee available.
