Britannia mortgage products launched

New mortgage products have been launched by Britannia Building Society.

Revised loan-to-value bands have been introduced on the new deals with three options of 60 per cent, 80 per cent and 90 per cent.

Tim Franklin, managing director of member business at Britannia, said the new choices gave "market leading rates".

He added that existing customers could benefit from member-only deals.

Britannia's two-year discount tracker enables borrowers to switch to a fixed-rate option during a two-year discounted period without being hit with early repayment charges.

Mr Franklin called it a "win-win option".

Last month, Britannia introduced the Inflations Beater two-year bond.

It said the interest rate was guaranteed to be above inflation and was adjusted each month.

The bond requires a minimum investment of £1,000, with the maximum capped at £1 million.

Speaking at the time of its launch, Mr Franklin said it allowed investors "another option to guarantee their savings are beating the rate of inflation for the next two years".
