Legal & General insurance survey launched

A Legal & General insurance survey is taking place with homeowners encouraged to take part.

The annual general insurance online survey, Safe as Houses, can be found at www.legalandgeneral.com/safeashouses.

It aims to find out what homeowners' safety and security issues are and what precautions are, or are not, being taken.

As a result, Legal & General hopes to discover whether customers need to do more to protect their homes and belongings.

Elaine Parkes, head of technical services for the firm's general insurance business, said it was "important to improve consumer awareness of home safety and security measures".

Legal & General has also just increased the limits of its financial underwriting.

They are now £800,000 for life insurance (previously £600,000) and £500,000 for critical illness cover (previously £350,000).

Russ Whitworth, underwriting and claims director, said that the process had been "simplified" in response to customers' needs and said the new limits were "market leading".
