The new product lasts for one year and has a fixed rate of 6.5 per cent gross on lump sum investments of £1,000 to £10,000.
It replaces the Premier Regular Saver bond that had previously been available.
All existing customers of the Premier current account range can take the bond, as can all new customers who switch to one of the Premier range current accounts in branch, with the Premier Switching Service.
Andy Muddimer, current accounts manager at Alliance & Leicester, said that due to the current uncertainty in the global financial markets, "now is a good time to assess all your banking needs to make sure you are getting a good deal".
Last week, Alliance & Leicester launched an internet only savings account called eSaver Issue 2.
Available for balances from £1 to £500,000, the account pays interest monthly and is designed for customers wanting longer-term savings rather than those intending to make regular withdrawals.
