MoneyExpert launches cashback deal

MoneyExpert has launched what it claims to be the first ever marketwide cashback offer from a price comparison website.
Users can take out car insurance using the comparison service and receive £20 cashback on any policy chosen.
People applying for car insurance on the site will be given quotes as usual as well as options for prices with the cashback deal included.
Sean Gardner, director of MoneyExpert.com, said the site had "chosen to break the mould and share our commission with our customers".
He added that after buying the car insurance, customers need only send their policy details to MoneyExpert and the money would be credited to their accounts.
Last month, MoneyExpert reported that since Gordon Brown stepped into 10 Downing Street, the costs of credit cards, loans and mortgages had risen.
In June 2007, the average credit card had an interest rate of 18.36 per cent but in 15 months the figure went to 19.66 per cent.
