New home credit loan comparison website launched

The site, lenderscompared.org.uk, is an independent service set up in response to a recent investigation by the Competition Commission into the home credit loans market.
As well as finding out which lenders will provide home credit in particular areas and the costs incurred, users can also use the site to find out about various credit unions.
They can compare loan amounts, loan durations and charges.
Consumer affairs minister Gareth Thomas said that the site will "help people to save money and get a good deal".
In related news, sub-prime borrowers are increasingly attempting to improve their credit records as lenders tighten their loan criteria.
Introducer Today reported research by Mintel which found 22 per cent of such borrowers are now concentrating on improving their rating and 14 per cent have recently checked theirs.
