Zurich Guaranteed Account now available

A Zurich Guaranteed Account has now been made available to customers.

The Zurich Guaranteed Account 9 lets intermediaries and their clients benefit from potential returns on the stock market with the original capital investment protected.

Holders of the account could enjoy a 42 per cent return on the investment if the closing level of the FTSE100 Index grows over the five-and-a-half year term.

Applications for the account can be made from October 30th to December 18th 2008.

A 0.33 per cent bonus is available for applications received before November 17th.

The account is for investments of between £2,500 and £250,000

Paul Wright, investment management director at Zurich, said the provider seeks to bring "flexible and innovative propositions".

Earlier this month, Zurich reported the results of a survey which found that 44 per cent of people do not know what their insurance would cover if they suffered from a flood.

Furthermore, 40 per cent did not know where to go for information about flood risks.

Responding to the results of its poll, Zurich set up a website to help homeowners prepare for floods and keep informed about risks.
