Norwich Union insurance IT system better for property owners

Norwich Union has announced that it is rolling out its Property Market Insurance (PMI) service to its brokers in a bid to make PMI easier to acquire.

The Windows-based online application will benefit clients, as it cuts down on the time it takes to broker a deal, but also ensures that clients' details remain safe.

Steve Freight, senior underwriter for property owners for Norwich Union, said the new system would be more secure than most of those currently in operation and would speed up the time it took brokers to process insurance documents for clients.

He added: "Research has shown that receiving a quality service is the number one requirement of property owners.

"PMI enables the broker, working under delegated authority, to achieve the first class service levels required by their clients."

Norwich Union is part of Aviva, the world's fifth largest insurance company.
