Nationwide launches new e-savings account

Nationwide Building Society has announced the launch of a new online savings account.

The new savings option, which is called the e-Savings Plus Account, is run like a Nationwide FlexAccount and will offer an AER of up to 3.75 per cent.

Customers wishing to open one of the new savings accounts can do so with a balance as small as £1 and account holders will be able to make three withdrawals for any amount over the course of the year without affecting the interest rate.

Matthew Carter, Nationwide's director of savings, said: "The addition of this new product to our range of online accounts gives savers even more choice as they can now choose to save their money online in an account which offers them both flexibility and a good return."

Recently, a survey by moneysupermarket.com found that Nationwide is the high street banking brand that Brits trust the most when it comes to savings.
