First Direct launches new website

First Direct has announced the launch of a new customer website, which it claims will help clients find the UK's "hidden gems".

The new website, which will be called the Little Black Book, encourages First Direct bank account holders to log on and share their personal stories, experiences, and the details of particular attractions with other First Direct banking customers.

Mark Mullen, head of marketing at First Direct, said that he hoped the new online launch would create a "real buzz".

He added: "We want our customers to use this as a forum to share their personal recommendations of great places and great service with each other.

"[Little Black Book] is about those surprising hidden gems that you'd have to go back to or tell all your friends about."

Yesterday, Alliance & Leicester published the results of a survey which suggested that nearly half of all people in the UK use the internet as their primary source of information on financial products.
