Norwich Union: Insurance customers given unclaimed amounts

According to [the] insurer, some £10 million in unclaimed insurance has already been returned to customers, forming part of a total of £40 million that Norwich Union hopes to give back to its customers eventually.
Norwich Union said that changes of address and lost insurance policies can mean that cash goes unclaimed and it has now employed a dedicated tracing agency, Assets Reunited, to help customers who have forgotten to claim to regain their money.
Cathryn Riley, chief operating officer at Norwich Union, said: "We are starting to see some fantastic progress in returning the money to customers who haven't claimed.
"The great feedback we've received from our customers makes it clear that they appreciate the work we've undertaken."
Norwich Union, which is a part of the Aviva group, is one of the UK's biggest providers of life insurance.
