Iggy Pop tells car insurance buyers to "get a life"

Iggy pop, whose biggest hit is entitled The Passenger, is to tell the UK's drivers to "get a life" by buying their car insurance online.

The proto-punk rocker has signed will appear in a series of new adverts for the insurance provider Swiftcover.com, which is part of the AXA group, the company announced today.

In the adverts, Iggy will tell watchers to save time by buying their car insurance online with a minimum of hassle, giving them more time to get out and "get a life".

Tina Shortle, marketing director at swiftcover.com, said: "The new campaign is an exciting step for swiftcover.com and one which we think will create great stand out in this highly competitive marketplace."

Iggy, who is known as the Godfather of Punk, first shot to fame as the lead singer of the Stooges in the late 60s and has remained in the rock and roll limelight since, partly thanks to his often shocking on-stage antics.
