Churchill Insurance: New Year sale now on

Churchill Insurance has announced a New Year sale which will see it offering discounts to buildings and household contents insurance customers.

The insurer announced that it will be offering new home insurance customers discounts of up to 25 per cent on its buildings and household contents cover in January.

Churchill said that customers who had not claimed in the last five years could be entitled to discounts of up to 50 per cent if they switched to Churchill.

Martin Scott, head of Churchill Home Insurance, said that although people may be feeling the pinch after a credit-crunched Christmas season, the current economic uncertainty meant that insurance may be more important now than ever.

He added: "Many people don't realise that not only are they covered if they are the victims of incidents such as floods, a burst water pipe or burglary, they can also add in extras such as legal cover which might help if they are made redundant."

Churchill, which is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group, also offers car insurance.
