Allianz Insurance wins top accolade

Allianz Insurance has been voted insurer of the year by a group of insurance intermediaries and product managers.

The insurer, which began life as Cornhill Insurance, was given the accolade by Coversure Insurance Services, which asked its franchise holders to vote on a range of criteria including the competitiveness of premiums, underwriting support and service levels.

Nick Hollands, franchise director at Coversure Insurance Services, said: "Allianz has clearly demonstrated a level of excellence in all of these categories."

David Keel, head of market management at Allianz Retail, added that his organisation is "delighted" to have received the award.

He claimed: "We strive to put our customers at the centre of everything we do and to have been recognised with this award is testament to this."

Cornhill Insurance, which was set up in 1905, was renamed Allianz in 2007 but still uses its original brand name for its car insurance division.
