Halifax Landlord Insurance: Landlords want London female doctors

Halifax Landlord Insurance has published the results of a survey which shows that property owners' ideal tenants are female medical professionals, preferably doctors, who are originally from London.

According to the insurer, over three-quarters of landlords said they prefer to rent to female tenants, while almost one-quarter stated a preference for tenants from London.

Halifax Landlord Insurance found that the medical profession is popular among landlords, GP being the most wanted job for tenants and nurses and carers also proving popular.

Martyn Foulds, senior claims manager for Halifax Landlord Insurance, said: "The research shows how particular landlords are about the types of people they rent to and highlights how much they care about their property."

Halifax made headlines recently as it is part of the HBOS group, which was bought up by Lloyds TSB to create a 'super-bank'.
