Leeds Building Society: New ISA launched

Leeds Building Society has announced the launch of a new individual savings account (ISA).

The new account, which will pay a rate of interest pegged at 0.75 per cent above the Bank of England's base rate, will be called the Tracker ISA Plus.

This rate will be fixed until the end of February 2010 at least and customers will be allowed to withdraw up to 25 per cent of the funds deposited in the ISA at any time without incurring any penalties.

Kim Rebecchi, director of sales and marketing for Leeds Building Society, said: "This is a simple, straightforward tax-free product [that] compliments our existing ISA range, which includes a 5-year Escalator ISA, an Inflation Buster and instant branch and online ISAs."

Recently, Leeds Building Society's Inflation Buster account won the coveted prize of most promising new product - savings and wealth management at the Financial Innovation awards.
