Alliance & Leicester: Guaranteed Investment Products launched

Alliance & Leicester has announced the launch of two investment products which guarantee a return of at least one per cent.

The first of the two new products, the Guaranteed Growth Plan (Issue 20) guarantees investors a minimum return of three per cent and a maximum return of 50 per cent of the average overall increase in the Halifax House Price Index.

Alternatively, the Guaranteed Capital Plus (Issue 7) offers investors the chance to tie their earnings to the stock market, offering a return of ten per cent if the FTSE 100 has increased by the end of the term.

Matt Hall, head of savings and investments at Alliance & Leicester, said: "The plans give investors an exposure to the potentially superior returns available from linking to equity markets or the UK housing market without putting their capital at risk."

Alliance & Leicester is part of the Santander group.
