Alliance & Leicester: Current account switching can help customers save

Alliance & Leicester has urged people in the UK to consider switching current account providers in order to make savings.

Research by the bank found that 67 per cent of people in the UK have not changed their current account provider since 1999.

Furthermore, 61 per cent of respondents to Alliance & Leicester's survey claimed they had no plans to review their choice of bank in the near future.

Andy Muddimer, current account manager at Alliance & Leicester, claimed that the present may be an excellent time for people to consider switching their current account as they give their finances a spring clean after the winter months.

He added: "With many people looking for ways to save money at the moment, the simple act of switching to a more competitive current account this spring could really help your cash go further."

Alliance & Leicester is part of the Santander group.
