New and existing customers at Nationwide could be set to benefit from guaranteed rates of return.

At least that is the building society's aim in offering a new range of fixed-rate individual savings accounts (Isa) and bonds, with rates between 2.75 and 3.20 per cent.

This comes as the organisation strives to reaffirm its support and commitment to savers amid the current financial downturn.

Mortgages and savings director Andy McQueen commented: "We've now entered a new tax year so I urge savers to deposit funds into an Isa as soon as possible to get maximum benefit."

Nationwide recently announced the launch of a range of new personal loans, boasting a string of reduced headline rates.

For a loan between the value of £7,500 and £14,999, the building society is offering a typical APR of 8.2 per cent.

Those interested should be aware that the same rate applies across all channels of banking, including branch, telephone and internet.
